Hi,
This has been a tough week for me to focus on myself and to make the right choices. It seems like sometimes it’s a breeze to get out and move, to prepare and eat healthy and do the things that are best for “me”, but we all have those days or sometimes weeks that it’s a struggle. Work has been busy, a lot going on in my personal life – good stuff, just busy, and my neck and shoulders have been tight and tense on and off for a couple of weeks making it difficult to even keep my head up. I know what I need to do but it’s a struggle to make the right choices when time is limited, works builds up, I don’t feel well, and there is no one else to do what I need to do around. It is and would be so much easier to go home from work and do nothing, and to make all the excuses in the world to just plop on the couch. And last night, I pretty much did that. I felt a little guilty but realized it’s ok to do that now and then – we all need time off and to ‘rest’ but not every night. Tonight a walk would be great – nothing too crazy. (I may need to make an appt. to have my neck checked and to be careful not to make it worse as well.) Just a nice walk around the neighborhood or at the park with the dog. Maybe then an ice pack on my back neck for a while and something easy for dinner. I’ll feel better after the walk knowing I did something good for myself. I read or heard somewhere recently that “the time we need to take care of ourselves the most is then we feel the least like doing so”! How true that is!
Be healthy!
Melanie
